Who Wants to Live in THE PRAIRIES?!

We were enjoying such GREAT WEATHER in BC and ALBERTA last week. The sun was shining and people were thinking about planting their gardens......

The garden centers were busy.......

Hanging baskets and bedding plants were flying off shelves like they were going out of style!

AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN.........

Old Jack Frost started to blow in one great big blast of winter......
And all my poor garden loving peeps ran for cover.......

What a METAMORPHOSIS. Suddenly we've got nothing to do at Darvonda 'cause all the semi trucks loaded with flowers have been canceled till the weather improves. What's a sales lady like Tamara supposed to do with her time when the weather turns frosty?!

Now that I have a little bit of time to breathe and sit a while, I got to thinking. And I started to wonder "Why do you people LIVE out there in the prairies where you can get SNOW in the end of APRIL?! Don't you realize that you don't have to live under these kinds of weather conditions?!"

"Seriously, people, it's time you all move out to BC where the the grass is ALWAYS greener".

Now don't forget to stop on by Between Naps on the Porch to check out all the other Metamorphosis going on out there in blog land this week. Click here

Well good news! The sun is shining this morning in Lethbridge, with no clouds in sight. So hopefully they'll request shipping to resume ASAP. I don't think any farmers here will be sad about the winter blast, it was MUCH needed for the crops! And our lawn sure is green now too!

There's been no snow in Edmonton in April. Plus, if we all moved to BC we'd have to pave over all of your green grass to accommodate all of our big houses and Hummers. Then you'd be saying, "Who wants to live in the concrete jungle? We should all move to the PRAIRIES where the grasses sway in the breeze and spring comes with a suddenness that makes you wonder at creation."

I envy your early spring every year, but I do love the prairies Hopefully your orders start moving again really soon. The weather will shift in no time.

Ontario isn't much better, actually. Everything was greening up nicely, balmy breezes, so that it fooled the trees and tulips (which are out almost three weeks early), and then we get cold bbbrrrr winds and overcast skies so that it looks like snow, with the odd flake drifting down. Everything just kinda stalled for two weeks, now it's back to gorgeous spring weather. The lilacs are actually blooming in some areas, a good month early! Wonder if we're getting a cold summer.
